“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” My kids are driving me crazy these days. The constant bickering, whinings, non-stop talking, screaming and crying are enough to make me give myself a timeout just so I can get some peace and quiet. But there are moments like this one where the kids are getting along and things are fine for just a few minutes. Times like these, I’m glad that I can spend time with them and watch them play together and laugh together with them. Then the fighting and the screaming starts up again and I pray that IRead More →

Summer is winding down finally! We have 2 more weeks left before E starts her last year of Kindy. All I can say is that I’m all burned out from this summer and in desperate need for a few days off from the kids. I really don’t know how stay-at-home moms do this all the time. This summer has been a busy one with the kids home and us moving and all. We’ve been quite productive though and there is always never a dull moment. I always want to write about the places we go and the things we do but I get distracted easilyRead More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” The light in our room is amazing so I’ve been trying to get a photo of my sleeping kids every morning. It’s been an interesting and fun project of mine since it’s funny to see all the strange sleeping positions I find them in. Of course, this also involves me waking up before they do, which isn’t an issue since I’m usually the first one up in our house.  I know this is a week late but it’s been quite the week we’ve been having. Last week was not a good week forRead More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” These two were playing with the little plastic toy cars that came with their kids meal while we waited for the bus. Good thing they were cheap little toys because K lost hers while we were on the bus. It was a fun distraction while it lasted though!  It’s really hot and humid lately. E started attending summer school which meant that on days when K was at daycare, I had time to myself to get things done around the house. On the weekends, we’ve been going to splash pools to cool off.Read More →

Currently, enjoying all the space we have in our new apartment. Seriously, it feels a lot more comfortable having space for the kids to run around and still have room for all our stuff. watching regular Japanese tv. We seem to be having trouble getting our cable set up so I’ve been watching Japanese tv a lot. It’s been interesting since I seem to understand bits and pieces of the news and the shows I watch. reading Octonaut stories. E is really into Octonauts right now and I bought a few story books to read to the kids. Of course, I seem to fall asleepRead More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” A bit too hot in the afternoons here to go out so we turned our bath into a small water play area. The kids didn’t mind as long as they got to play with water.   We’ve been having some really hot days in Tokyo last week so we stayed indoors most of the time to avoid being in it. E doesn’t mind it too much since she doesn’t really like being out in this weather. K doesn’t really like the heat either but she’s always itching to be out and about. WeRead More →

It’s been 3 weeks since we moved to our new place. Everyday, I make an effort to unpack a little and make our home look more like a home. Of course, at this point, I’m sick of unpacking boxes and wondering where I will put things since we have more things than we need. Hopefully, I can get rid of more stuff soon. Here’s a quick peek into what our apartment looks like now. This is our laundry/bath/powder room. It was the first room to be finished which is great since now I can do laundry and have a place to fold and store them.Read More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” Jumping on our gigantic hamsters together and laughing about it. 🙂  We’re still digging through all the boxes in our apartment. I swear, we take out 10 or so boxes down to the recycle bin almost every other day but there’s still a large amount of them sitting there waiting for us. As I told Jason, I probably wouldn’t have such a hard time unpacking if I would just chuck everything away without having to figure out if it goes into the recyclable trash, burnable trash, large-item trash, or for reselling. It alsoRead More →
