Who we are

Hiya!
My name is Jen and I live in Tokyo with my husband, Jason, and our two girls, MissE and kittyK. This blog was originally started as a fun way of keeping track of our time here in Tokyo, all through the eyes of our little hamster stuff animals. Over time, the whole parenting thing took over and this blog became more about our kids and our lives here as foreign residents.
Jason and I are from California and we moved to Tokyo in 2006. We were originally here for only a year but somehow that year turned into many years. How long will we stay in Japan? Who knows!
So sit back and enjoy this little space where I talk about anything and nothing at all. I have a tendency to disappear for a while before reappearing and posting up a storm.
Enjoy!
By the way, meet the hamsters (technically, capybaras). They’re the reason this blog is called Hamster Central 🙂

  1. Okay, so I’m just now reading this and I. LOVE. THOSE. HAMSTERS.
I mean, how cute are those???
    Very cute, Jen. VERY CUTE.

  2. I just love to go back and find out more about a blog and the blogger…What a cute family :o) Your little Ellie is adorable! And I was wondering about what “hamsters” were all about :o) They are pretty cute. Where did you move from before Japan? I lived in Japan way back when!!! around 1970 when my dad was stationed in Wakkanai.
I have some old posts about some memories there.
    Blessings & Aloha!
So fun meeting you and learning more about you on this post.
