This weekend I saw an interesting music video on tv while I was busily chipping away wood for my printmaking class. The singer is “Jero.” He sang an Enka song, which is a style of Japanese song that is more popular with the older generations. So what’s the big deal with some guy singing Enka? Yesterday was a very windy day in Tokyo. But that’s beside the point…. One of our neighbors has a cat that on some occasions would scream bloody hell for no reason (which surprisingly enough sounds just like a child crying and screaming it’s lungs out). Today, I had wanted to go to a temple near Shinjuku to see “The Procession of Armed Pirates.” According to the Metropolis magazine, it’s where 100 men born in this zodiac year go through the city disguised as pirates! ARRRRRGGG!!!!!! ….But we can’t go see pirates today because we had a snow storm of some sort all of a sudden! SNOW!!!! AGAIN!!!! It’s the 2nd time we’ve had snow!!! ….and on a weekend too! and in Tokyo!! Yay!!! I’ve been waiting to see snow in Tokyo since we moved here a year and a half ago. Now I got my snow and I’m so happy!
