Cantonese is loud and obnoxious when compared to Mandarin….or so I’ve been told. I speak Cantonese so I never really noticed it until I was told that the dialect sounds like a lot of yelling when spoken. I kinda agree now… Anyway, the Osaka dialect is the Cantonese of Japan….or so I’ve been told (sound familiar?). Right before Melissa went back to the US, we decided to take a spur-of-the-moment trip to Osaka so we can see my handmade book in the museum in Ashiya city (where all the rich people live). As part of the spur-of-the-moment thing, we took the cheaper method to getRead More →

Sorry for the lack of updates these past few days. It’s the first week of winter break at the school I work for so we’re tyring to get as many computers and the server stuff all fixed and ready to go before we all take off for Christmas break. Anyway, I bought a new cookbook on meals that are quick and easy to make. I’m getting a little tired of eating out at the same places and being how it’s break, I have time to cook again! Tonight’s dinner: Grilled Chicken with cheese and veggies. Chicken breasts 6 piecesMozzarela cheeseAsparagasMini TomatoesSalt and pepper for seasoningWhiteRead More →

Backtracking a little… On November 11th, Jason and I held a birthday party for all our hamster kids. Hehe, I know it sounds silly but those who know us know that we love our stuffed animals like as if they were our real kids. Anyway, since we are always out to collect more as the come out, we decided on a date that was easy to remember and just dedicated that day as Hamster Day so we can celebrate all their birthdays at once. That day is November 11. Here’s the birthday cake that I made for our kids… And here’s one with all ourRead More →

The day after Thanksgiving was Japan’s labor day, giving us a 3 day weekend to go out and do something fun. The four of us packed a overnight bag and traveled to Nagano to stay in a ryokan. The place we stayed at was in Matsumoto a town in the Nagano prefecture. It didn’t snow but it was still pretty cold. Well technically, it wasn’t freezing cold but the wind chill factor made it feel cold. The Ryokan we stayed at was a nice little inn that meme found. We got there just in time for a quick dip in the onsen before dinner. TheRead More →

Portable hamster reporting for duty! My job right now is to say “Sorry for the slow updates!” to everyone who visits this website. We have small hands and feet and they are all spaced kinda far apart so it takes us a longer time to write things. Sometimes we have mommy (and maybe daddy when he feels like it) help us but she is always busy. There’s still a lot of things we want to put here so please wait a little bit :3 Oh, let me tell you a little bit about me… I’m the first hamster that my mommy and daddy adopted. DaddyRead More →

This Thanksgiving, since meems and Will were visiting us, Jason and I decided that we’d have Thanksgiving dinner. Since Thanksgiving doesn’t exist in Japan, turkeys are a tad bit harder to find. Our solution? …We went to Costco….for some good Costco Roasted Chicken….mmmm… So on Thanksgiving morning, the four of us got ready with our empty backpacks and set out on our journey to the nearest Costco…namely the one in Makuhari Messe which is an hour by train and half an hour by foot…one way. Once there, we set out to buy the things we needed for Thanksgiving as well as have Costco food forRead More →

Melissa and Will visited us here for three weeks! It has been really fun having them over and doing things with them. Too bad Will was only here for a week but I think he had a lot of fun. There’s quite a bit of stuff I need to catch up on since I’ve been incredibly busy the past month so I might just do a little update at a bit until I get back on track. Hopefully, between working and being lazy at home, I can get all the updates done as well as a few side projects I’ve been meaning to get doneRead More →
