Has it really been a month already? It seems like time has blurred together these days. I guess that just how these hazy, newborn days are…just one big sleep deprivation blur. Luckily, my in-laws were here for a month to help us adjust to life with a newborn. They entertained E and held K while Jason and I got some rest as well as stuff done. But they left for home Sunday night and now it’s just the four of us. Things are going to be interesting from now on. I’m just glad Jason is home at nights again since he was scheduled to workRead More →

When I was a kid, I was never a very good student. I’d say I was probably a ‘C’ or ‘D’ student at best. It’s not because I’m stupid or dumb but because I hated doing homework and classwork and just never did what I was told. Apparently, Jason was the same exact way too when he was growing up. Then again, which kid isn’t right? Of course, I’m no longer that type of student anymore. In fact, these days, you’d find me working hard to get the best possible grade in a class. You can say that I go above and beyond with myRead More →

Oh hi! Is it December already? This year has certainly gone by quick if you ask me. I feel like I’m always busy with something and before I knew it, it’s already the end of the year. Not even sure where all my time is going to these days. Yesterday was finally the day of E’s school’s annual Winter Carnival. They call it a carnival but it’s more like a big stage production. It’s what us mom’s in the PTA have been busily working on these past 2 months, making costumes, props and stage sceneries. The kids and us put in a lot of hardRead More →

Happy Halloween, everyone! I wish you all a safe Halloween especially if you are going to be trick or treating around the neighborhood.  Halloween seems a bit more scary (and in some places more dangerous) these days compared to when we were kids so I wish every a safe trick or treating.  And for those of you who have been affected by Hurricane Sandy, my thoughts are with you and your families.  I hope that everyone is doing well especially since I’ve seen photos of the damages and it’s pretty scary going through something like that. I hope you stay safe and dry this Halloween.Read More →

These days I feel like all I’m talking about is E. I can’t help it though since she’s starting a new chapter in her life and has so many new experiences that I feel the need to document as much as possible. Plus, my life these days is just going to work and taking care of the family. It’s not as exciting as the life of a kid who gets to experience new things all the time. That said, yesterday I got to take part in another fun school event which was the annual fall field trip. The location this year was at Musashi noRead More →

Yesterday, E’s school celebrated United Nations Day. Surprisingly enough, we both had a lot of fun at the school event. Now, I’ve seen my fair share of cheesy school events. It makes a difference when your own child is a participant compared to when you’re a bystander watching a group of strangers sing songs and stuff (which I am most of the time since I work at a school). Yesterday, I was one of those moms who would point out their kid to other parents and say “That’s my daughter! Isn’t she cute?” I definitely had one of those proud mommy moments despite the factRead More →

It’s amazing how quickly the month of September has come and gone. E’s already on her 4th week of school and things have improved a lot compared to the beginning of the month. E’s made a few new friends and have picked up a few English phrases here and there. She’s getting use to the class routines and for the most part, very happy about going to school. Just last Wednesday, there was a parent teacher conference and her teachers commented on how involved she is in class now and how she laughs a lot compared to the first week. She also talks a lotRead More →

This has been a long week, my friends. E’s first week of school has been an interesting one. And definitely a very tiring one for me. E in her school uniform. She was complaining about having her photo taken.  (Not my car btw) First, I have to say that I have so much more admiration for moms with school age kids. Even more so for moms who have multiple school age kids and definitely for those moms who hold a job while taking care of school age kids because it’s definitely not an easy job, not that I ever thought it was easy. While IRead More →
