Oh hi! Is it December already? This year has certainly gone by quick if you ask me. I feel like I’m always busy with something and before I knew it, it’s already the end of the year. Not even sure where all my time is going to these days. Yesterday was finally the day of E’s school’s annual Winter Carnival. They call it a carnival but it’s more like a big stage production. It’s what us mom’s in the PTA have been busily working on these past 2 months, making costumes, props and stage sceneries. The kids and us put in a lot of hardRead More →
Happy Thanksgiving to my friends and family in the US! Since Thanksgiving isn’t celebrated in Japan, it’s just another regular day for us. Even though we don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving as much over here, I still like to talk about how grateful I am for all the things that I have in my life. Sometimes I feel like all I ever talk about on this blog is about being grateful for this amazing life that I live. I can’t help it though because even though I’ve made my fair share of mistakes and bad decisions in the past, I am blessed with a wonderful familyRead More →
Ah, finally a moment to catch my breath. Traveling overseas is never as fun as it sounds, especially if you are flying 11 hours with a 3 1/2 year old and while 6 months pregnant. It’s really not that comfortable for anyone involved in the traveling. But yes, on top of dealing with jetlag after coming back to Tokyo, E also caught a cold and had to stay home from school for a few days. This weekend I’ve also had to deal with some stress inducing personal issues which took up a lot of my time and energy. I’m just looking forward to the endRead More →
Did you know that we’re currently in California? No? We’ve been back for a little over a week now. Bet you also didn’t know that we’re scheduled to fly back to Tokyo tonight either, right? Yea, our annual trip back to see family is much shorter and earlier this year because of the pregnancy. Plus there’s also school and work we need to get back to since Japan doesn’t quite celebrate Thanksgiving and therefore there are no holidays for us. It’s been a good trip home though. Still too short compared to previous visits but definitely not the shortest. This week has gone by soRead More →
It’s amazing how fast time passes you by when you’re busy with stuff. I’ve been so preoccupied with this whole PTA thing and working that I managed to not notice I’ve passed that halfway point of my current pregnancy. Plus, I’ve been a bit worn out from doing so much that I just don’t have the energy to blog at the end of the day. So here’s a bit of update on how next child is doing… I know I haven’t talked much about next child. I think a part of me is paranoid about sharing too much and then having to write another griefRead More →
This past weekend was the last official weekend of this summer for us especially since E officially starts preschool next week. Since we didn’t go anywhere this summer because of the heat and humidity, we decided it’s time we took a trip to the beach. Beaches in and near Tokyo aren’t very clean looking (or clean in general) so we traveled farther south to the beaches of Shimoda, located on the Izu Peninsula and as far south as you can go by train on this peninsula. We also opted for a family friendly hotel with a pool over one of the many nicer hot springRead More →
Guess what, my friends? I am back! Well, almost. I’m like the kid who dreads it when summer vacation ends and the school year begins. I’ve enjoyed being on my summer break so much that I almost didn’t feel like coming back for another few months. But there are lots of things to catch up on and lots of exciting stories to tell and definitely lots more on the way. So while I am trying to get my lazy butt back into blogging mode, here’s a recap of my summer. Graduation – Yes, it has finally happened. I have finished my second degree after soRead More →
