It’s that time of the year again when E goes back to school. This year is our last year at this school before she starts elementary school next April. Elementary school! NEXT APRIL!!! Seriously, how did that happen so fast? It was a lot easier taking a first day of school photo this year since we have better lighting at home and she’s much more cooperative than in the past. Here she is this year 🙂 I never got to share last year’s photo on the blog but she’s grown so much in the span of one year. This was her last year on theRead More →

This summer, one of the things I really wanted to do was spend a bit more solo time with E since I know it’s been hard on her ever since K became more possessive of me. So I put K into daycare a few more days every month so that I can go out and do things with E without constantly getting distracted by her baby sister. One of the things E really wanted to do with our mommy-and-me time was to go to the Lego Discovery Center in Odaiba. Prior to this summer, we went at most twice since we didn’t like being inRead More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” My kids are driving me crazy these days. The constant bickering, whinings, non-stop talking, screaming and crying are enough to make me give myself a timeout just so I can get some peace and quiet. But there are moments like this one where the kids are getting along and things are fine for just a few minutes. Times like these, I’m glad that I can spend time with them and watch them play together and laugh together with them. Then the fighting and the screaming starts up again and I pray that IRead More →

Summer is winding down finally! We have 2 more weeks left before E starts her last year of Kindy. All I can say is that I’m all burned out from this summer and in desperate need for a few days off from the kids. I really don’t know how stay-at-home moms do this all the time. This summer has been a busy one with the kids home and us moving and all. We’ve been quite productive though and there is always never a dull moment. I always want to write about the places we go and the things we do but I get distracted easilyRead More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” I was unpacking some stuff in the kitchen when I hear giggles coming from the living room. I peek over and I see these two monkeys playing with something in the corner by my computer. It was so sweet 🙂  At this point in time, I’m tired of unpacking. I have most of my kitchen unpacked and the laundry room is done too. I’m about ready to just throw in the towel and call it a day. (though I never do)Read More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” I’ve taken a lot of photos of these two monkeys this past week but this one is still my favorite one. They’re actually getting along and not yelling, screaming, crying, or fighting with each other. I’m going to miss seeing them hide under Jason’s desk to read, play, and/or watch the iPad after we move. This week was the first full week of summer break for E, which meant that it’s been a very tiring week having both girls home with me most of the time. K still went to daycare on MondayRead More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” Bath time portrait. These days, it’s just easier bathing them together since they like to play in the tub together. Unfortunately, our new home has a smaller tub so they won’t be able to enjoy bath time as much as they do now.   It’s been a while since I’ve posted a photo for this project. Things keep piling up and I lose track of time. So here is week 25. We’re almost halfway done with the year and we have a week left of living in this apartment. If you saw ourRead More →

So this happened yesterday, (Thanks to my friend, Sarah Jane, (well, technically her husband) for getting this photo of her! I stole a few from her blogpost) Yesterday, was E’s Kindergarten graduation ceremony. Technically, she will still be attending the same school next school-year but will be leaving midway to start Japanese elementary so they celebrated her “graduation” the year before. It’s a bit confusing for many of our friends and family back home because she’s technically in Pre-K because of her age but if we’re following the Japanese school system, she would technically be a kindergartener from this past April. Anyway… Because this wasRead More →
