β€œA portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015.” I was getting Ellie’s school stuff ready for the next day while Jason was in the bathroom getting the kids to brush their teeth.  “Jen, come here and see what the kids are doing! You’re going to want a picture of this!” He was right. It was a cute moment worthy of a picture πŸ™‚ I’ve trained him well. Read More →

Last Tuesday was a big day for us. It was K’s 2nd birthday and it was also the day of E’s elementary school parent info session (called a shogakko setsumekai 小学树θͺ¬ζ˜ŽδΌš for those interested). It’s a pretty important event since we’ve been notified of it since last November during E’s health screening at the school. We’ve even received a letter announcing the importance of attending this information session and how it is a parents only event. Even though E’s elementary is a Japanese public school, they have quite a few foreign families in her class. Pretty much all the information was translated into English forRead More →

Can you believe it?! This little monkey is 2 years old today! 2 years old! It makes me sad that she is growing up so fast but I’m also happy to watch her become a little person with so much personality and spunk. We usually keep our birthdays low-key and this year is no different. I bought K an Olaf ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins and we had a simple dinner with just the four of us at home. β€œA portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015.” It was interesting watching these two work together to get a bottle of lotion off our dresser. Oh the trouble they will get themselves into when they are older… This week E will be going back to school and I am putting K into daycare so that I can get some cleaning and organizing done. I am really tempted to just take a week off and do absolutely nothing though. It has been a very tiring trip back to California and the kids have been a handful since we came back to Tokyo…Read More →

β€œA portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015.” Β  Here we go again. I hope this year I’ll have better luck with the blog and posting more often. We’re currently still in LA at my in-laws home where the kids are enjoying all the toys they received from their grandparents. We leave in 2 days and it’s starting to feel a bit sad that we are leaving family behind once again. I guess all good things must come to an end eventually…Read More →
