A blog post! Hurray! I’m slowly working my way back into the whole blog thing. It’s a little weird visiting blogs I haven’t been to in a long while and commenting on things that go waaaay back to December so I’m just going to stick to commenting on more recent posts.  I think I may have to go through my Google Reader one day and purge blogs/websites that I no longer read or those that are no longer active. But it’s nice to see 3 digits of unread items instead of the 1000+. First off… Happy Chinese New Year! It’s the year of the dragonRead More →

Ever get an idea that just won’t go away even when you know you don’t have time to pursue it? I get them all the time, which is why I start so many projects but have a hard time finishing them because I’m always getting distracted with wanting to try something new. Darn ideas. Well, despite my long to-do list and my carefully planned out schedule for this week, I ended up going off on a tangent again. Instead of spending the day doing photo walks of several places, I stayed home to work on an idea that’s been nagging me this past week andRead More →

Today is a day of 11’s! Being the geek that I am, I took a photo today at 11:11am (pm doesn’t count since it shows up as 23:11 here). This is what I was doing at 11:11am on 11.11.11 I was at work (and technically still am at the time of this post). But I’m the only one in the office at this time so I can geek out as much as I want. I took a quick photo of what’s outside of our office window before 11:11 finished. Yes, that’s a graveyard. And it’s raining. And also pretty cold. Ok, geekery is done andRead More →

I come across a lot of random things when I’m out and about in Tokyo. It’s one of the advantages of having to walk to a lot of places since you tend to notice more things around you. This was one such encounter. It’s the broken heel of a shoe. I saw this in the middle of the sidewalk on the way to the train station yesterday. Almost everyone who walked by it probably didn’t even notice it was there or didn’t even care much for it. I know Jason didn’t see it but then again he was trying to keep E from getting intoRead More →

I was debating if I should participate this in this week’s Alphabe-Thursday especially since I’m behind in reading everyone else’s posts. Besides, X is a pretty hard letter to find a subject to write about. Plus, this fever of mine just won’t break for the life of me and I’m just hanging in this miserable place of being sick and not being able to get out of it. But my desire to blog trumps personal health (probably because I’m delirious at this moment) and so I present you my ‘X’ letter post! I had a tough time thinking of words that started with ‘X’ soRead More →

It’s been quite a week last week and even though I haven’t exactly been posting much recently (with the exception to Week in the Life project), I feel the need to write something.  So here are a few thoughts… On blogging and blog reading I had originally planned on writing a post-“Week in the Life”-project thoughts but after spending the entire last week of July blogging and reading blogs every night, I was feeling a bit tired from doing either.  Not that I didn’t enjoy doing both things because I did.  I was just tired because it’s been a long while since I’ve devoted soRead More →

I can’t believe that summer is almost over! Where has all that time gone? It’s been really hot here lately. Very hot and very humid. Worst part about this heat is that I actually have to be outside in it. The short travel time between home and work can feel like eternity in this heat. I’m just really glad that summer is coming to an end. I expect that the heat will start to cool down in October… Hopefully… I’ve actually been pretty occupied with work lately. In fact, I spent most of this month at work, getting things ready for the new school year.Read More →

I love watching Japanese evening news. Depending on what the topic is, I can understand at least 50% of what they are talking about most of the time. This summer, we got the usual government and political related news like who our new prime minister is this time (since they haven’t been able to keep one for more than a year apparently). Then, we had our usual weather news…well, mostly about the crazy rain and floods we had at the beginning of the summer to the incredible heat that we’re all suffering in right now.  It’s officially the hottest summer we’re experiencing in Tokyo ever. Read More →
