Did you know that November is NaBloPoMo? No? It’s okay because I wasn’t aware of it until yesterday when a few of the blogs I read started mentioning how they were taking part in it. So what exactly is NaBloPoMo? Must be a weird Jen sound effect, right? Well, no, it stands for National Blog Posting Month. It’s the blog equivalent to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). Since I don’t foresee myself writing a novel anytime soon, I figure I can give the blog version a try. All I really need to do is write a blog post every day for the month of November.Read More →

Time for the start of another round of Alphabe-Thursday! I was quite inspired by what H (from Little Sealed Packages) did with this meme in the last round. She explored and photographed places within the county of Derbyshire where she resides and shared it with us. Unfortunately, Tokyo doesn’t have all the lush, green landscapes like those of the English countryside of Derbyshire so we’re going to have to settle with the urban jungle that I live in. Tokyo is quite big and there are just too many places to choose from so the places I’ll be writing about are a few places I wantedRead More →

This year we got lucky with the weather and actually went out to do some Halloweening 🙂 Here’s a quick recap of our Halloween weekend! We headed out to Roppongi Hills to attend their annual Halloween parade. It’s our first year attending this event so we didn’t know what the turnout was like. Let’s just say that there were a lot of people there that day. Here’s E in her costume. I decided to forgo the yellow pants since E is really picky about what she wears. She was the one who decided on her dark blue tights and those flowery boots. E was aRead More →

I really had intended on writing several posts this week. I even had the post started and thought out. But then I realized something…. Next Monday is Halloween. Which means that all Halloween parades and celebration are going to take place this weekend. Having missed all of them last year because of rain and getting sick, I am determined to take E to one this year. I only had one problem. E did not have a costume yet. Well, to be more accurate, I had not started on making one for her yet since I was still debating on what to make this year. InRead More →

I have such big, happy news to share with all of you! Our bloggy friend, P got married to B on October 14th! Since this is not my happy news, I’m keeping their identity a secret, so if you know who I am talking about send them a congratulations via email! I was going to wait to see if she will announce it herself but she hasn’t blogged in ages and I just couldn’t hold all the giggles and happy smiles to myself 🙂 I just found out about it on Facebook from the photos posted so I am just as surprised as everyone! I’m taking a few days off from blogging this week. My brain feels a little fried from all the poetry I have to write and think about for my class (yes, I am taking poetry writing…). It’s making me have writer’s block when I’m in front of my computer even though I’ve got stories to share. I’ll be back next week with stories about a circus, field trips and something else that I cannot for the life of me remember what it was that I wanted to write about….but it’s suppose to be good, I think. Have a good week and I’ll see you guysRead More →

to H! I’ll contact you by email about how we’re going to do this prize thing so if you don’t hear from me, leave me a comment. Thanks for all the birthday wishes and the comments about Steve Jobs. I wish I could give everyone something…hmm, maybe I can do something for Christmas this year… I’ll think about it 🙂 Have a good weekend everyone!Read More →

A few weeks ago, we took E to the zoo for the first time. She had a lot of fun especially because she knew the names of most of the animals and seeing them in person was much more exciting than seeing pictures in a book. We saw elephants, and monkeys, and hippos (including a newborn hippo!). Oh, can’t forget about the Jackass Penguins (though the Japanese name translate to “Cape Penguins”. Not sure where the “Jackass” comes from) And then we finally arrived at E’s favorite animal, the giraffe She was so excited to see the giraffe 🙂 Though to be honest, the giraffeRead More →
