Last weekend was a long weekend so Jason and I decided to join the Tokyo Mother’s Group on one of their autumn outings. They were planning on going to Takao-san, a popular spot for many Tokyoites since it’s a sacred mountain with incredible views of the changing leaves. Of course that was also our biggest problem…..the hordes and hordes of people going there made it very difficult to enjoy nature. We ended up going off on our own to try to climb the mountain. After attempting Fuji last time, I don’t know what made me think that this one would be easier….especially since I’m practicallyRead More →

After a long, long time of not doing anything, we are finally starting back up again!  (hopefully…) Mommy redesigned our website and since she is going to take time off from school (to prepare for baby hamster’s arrival), she might be able to help us put all the new stuff up on the website!  Yay! It’s going to be a while before we are all caught up but hopefully we don’t get distracted by all the shiny stuff and forget about this website again!Read More →

Almost forgot that it’s Thanksgiving back at home (especially since we don’t celebrate it in Japan). I’ve got some pictures of our recent autumn outing that I should put up but I’ve been preoccupied with the design of hamster-central.com (hehe). Also found a great place for Chinese food just around the corner from us that I want to review too. Maybe once I’m done with class and have more time to goof off, I’ll catch up on stuff. Till then, have a safe and happy Thanksgiving day (with your turkey dinners and all that good stuff!)Read More →

My tummy is getting rounder and it’s also getting a bit harder to bend over and reach my feet (both sitting and standing). It’s also pretty much impossible to button my jacket all the way down especially when it’s getting colder here. Upside to all this is that I can feel the baby kicking everyday and I like to rub my tummy. It’s funny how a lot of people get excited about my baby bump too, both at work and at school. I am quite enjoying the pregnancy right now. Other than the slight difficulty in movement and difficulty in finding a comfortable position toRead More →

This year, Jason and I had to go and buy something cake-like and turn it into a hamster-like cake. If only our microwave/oven arrived today instead of tomorrow, then I would’ve baked something but I guess it couldn’t be helped. Anyway, we didn’t do too bad… The hamster cake itself is a pound cake that was carved to look like a hamster. The green thing next to it is suppose to be a block of grass. In actuality it’s an apple pie with hand-whipped cream (with green food coloring) all over it. Yes, it sounds disgusting but it’s not too bad. The kids really likedRead More →

Man, how in the world did we ever live before the internet? One week without it and I swear I was going to go crazy….. As for the move, well, we’re starting to settle into the new place….though it’s still a mess but it’s getting there.Read More →

Well the time has finally come….time to say good bye to our old apartment. Change is hard but it’s inevitable… Thanks for all the good times and for all the memories!Read More →

If and when I get pregnant again, I should avoid any other huge changes in my life at the same time. Being this is the last night at our old apartment, I manage to get myself so upset at the thought of having to move that I made myself cry. Maybe Melissa’s right and my hormones are making me feel 100% more emotional than usual. Either way, after tomorrow, we will be starting our lives at our new home and it will be a while before we get use to things at the new place. We’ll also be without internet for a while so that’llRead More →
