I’m at the half way point! Man, the weeks go by so quickly when your pregnant! Though I must admit, the first few weeks were hellish when I had morning sickness. Now that the morning sickness is over and I can eat almost normally again, I am really enjoying the pregnancy. Jason can also hear the baby’s heartbeat (and also felt the movement) when he puts his head on my tummy. That was pretty cute. He’s still not use to talking to my stomach though. If all goes well, I have another 20 weeks to go (depending on whether the baby wants to come outRead More →

As a favor to my mother-in-law, Jason and I stayed our first night at our new apartment yesterday night. It was weird since the new place is a mess. We had just built the bed Friday night so boxes were everywhere and we didn’t have bedsheets, blankets or pillows since we have a queen size bed and it’s very hard to find sheets at any store in that size. We had to special order it from a home store along with the blankets and we won’t be getting them until November 5th. Jason’s cellphone also rang twice in the middle of the night which wokeRead More →

Packing…. Seriously, how in the world did Jason and I end up having so much stuff that we need to pack up and move? I’ve been slowly packing for the past 2 weeks….mostly by myself since Jason has been preoccupied with other stuff. I’m not sure how he can stay so calm about not being all packed and ready to go. We have less than a week before we have to officially be moved out….. The whole pregnancy thing tends to be a hindrance in this case too since I can’t lift heavy boxes or move big things around. Plus, I get tired a lotRead More →

I always thought that the whole diet craze was bad in the states….that is until I came here. It’s much worse in Japan and the fact that many of these women do not look like they have an ounce of fat on them makes it even more annoying. I admit, the constant bombardment of diet ads for miracle pills, shakes, machines, etc has attracted my attention before. I have contemplated trying their fad diets but never really actually felt safe doing so. Anyway, the newest diet fad (that will soon fade away as fast as it has appeared) is the banana diet. Apparently, some actressRead More →

We still don’t know if we’re having a boy or a girl….. Today, I had my regular checkup as well as the in-depth ultrasound. Unfortunately, the technician had a hard time finding out the sex of the baby because of the position the baby was in. Oh well, it just means we have to wait another 4 weeks before we get another chance to find out! Here are the ultrasound photos: The first picture is of the baby’s head….well more like face. If you tilt your head to the left, you can sort of see an alien-like face. You can kinda picture where the eyes,Read More →

or a little of both! Just for Auntie Mary, Me at 18 weeks! I’ve been hesitant about taking photos of my growing belly for a while. It’s not that I don’t enjoy looking at my belly….I’m just not sure when it began to grow because of the baby and not because of the food I eat. I guess at some point in time, I began to notice that I was getting rounder even though I only eat a little bit more than I use to. Anyway, I still believe that the photo of my belly is actually the growing baby cushioned by a nice layerRead More →

Ikea! Hehe, people here pronounce Ikea as e-kay-ah, which makes me wonder how the Swedish people say it. So, today, Jason and I went to Ikea to buy some furniture for our new place. We spent a good 5 hours there, including at least a half hour eating meatballs. It was an overall good trip since we got the essential stuff; i.e. bed, rug, desks and chairs. We decided not to get the sofa yet until we get a tv, which might be a while. We’re also probably going to furnish the baby’s room a little later since we still need to go to aRead More →

Thanks everyone for the warm birthday wishes! I feel so loved 🙂 So…… Jason and I knew we had to move out by the end of February next year since they were demolishing our building. Then when news came that we were having a baby in March, we decided that it would be better to move earlier so that we’d be prepared for the baby’s arrival. After spending the past month and a half looking at several places, we finally found an apartment that satisfies most of our requirements. Apartment hunting in Japan is rather annoying. Most of the places we were introduced to lookedRead More →
