Last week, we were watching a news story about an international bread contest where the Japanese beat the French for the grand prize (which apparently is a big deal). Anyway, I offhandedly asked Jason if France was famous for it’s bread. Me: I’m guessing France is known for their bread? Jason: Don’t you remember about my comment about France? M: *stares blankly for a moment* Ah, the baguettes! J: You remember right? M: Yea, you said something about the baguettes in France. Something about how you’ll eat only their baguettes. J: Hehe, yup. M: What was the conversation again? Oh yea, I think I bloggedRead More →

My friend, Amber, over at Life, Love, Green is doing this monthly challenge where we share the things that we appreciate in our significant others. Since I don’t talk about Jason as much as I do about E, I thought it would be nice to share some of the things about Jason that I love so much. There are many things I love about him. One of those things is his selflessness. In fact, there is one specific moment that really sticks in my mind. This happened several years ago, before we were even engaged. Jason and I had been dating for a little overRead More →

Sometimes I wonder about Jason. He’s a very strange person and he never ceases to surprise me with the things he does. For example, today, as I began making dinner, I realized that we didn’t have any mayonnaise for the sauce I was making. Me: Jason, do you think you can go downstairs and buy some mayo? I need some for the recipe and we’re out. Jason: Sure. I’ll be right back. Several minutes later… Jason: Is THIS enough mayo? *holds a bottle of mayo up to me* Me: *stare at him, then at the mayo, then back at him* Jason: *he smiles at meRead More →

We had planned to go out to Tokyo Tower today since they have a Baskin Robbins in the small shopping area there and because we live close by. Except we ended up staying home most of the day since Jason was feeling under the weather and the three of us were a coughing mess. As we were getting ready to go out for some dinner, Jason and I had this amusing conversation (well to us anyway) Me: Aww, I wish we had gone to Tokyo Tower today. I wanted to get ice cream for daughter. Jason: Ice cream? Me: Yea, they have a 31’s there.Read More →

I’m going to geek out tonight for this weeks Alphabe-Thursday: Blue.  It’s something I promised Jason that I would write a post about and so I’m following up on that promise 🙂  So if you get lost, confused or bored of reading this post, I won’t hold any grudges.  So don’t feel bad for skimming or skipping. Blue is the color of Maat’s cap. You’re probably wondering who Maat is.  Well, he’s this character in an online game that Jason plays (it’s Final Fantasy XI). This is Maat. Maat is an old man who is well trained in all the different job classes in thisRead More →

Jason and E have a strange relationship.  It’s a strange one because I think they are always jealous of each other when it comes to monopolizing my free time. E definitely doesn’t like it when Jason gets too close to me.  She has this method of wedging herself between us and try to push him away. I’m pretty sure that Jason misses those days when he didn’t have to compete for my attention. Still there are times when they can coexist together….often times it involves me not present in the room with them.   It’s during these peaceful moments that Jason likes to admire just howRead More →

Ah, it’s only Monday and my brain is already going barabara. What’s barabara (pronounced bah-ra-bah-ra)?  It’s a Japanese onomatopoeia that means scattered; disperse; loose; disconnected; in pieces; in drops; rustling. So, yes, my brain is currently barabara…. Let’s talk about Jason for a little bit…as an update to how he’s doing and all…. Jason’s actually doing really great. Well, not great in the way that his illness has gone away and he is back to his old self again.  No, it’s great in the way that his inflammation levels have gone up slower than before, which in Jason terms means that it’s a good signRead More →
