I never shared much about our trip back to California in December. Part of the reason was because I didn’t feel like wading through the 4,000+ photos I took when I was home. I think it’s about time I got back into the rhythm of things and started sharing some of those stories. I know, I know, it’s already February so it’s weird talking about things that happened 2 months ago but there are some pretty funny moments that just need to be shared. So let us start with the one with all the sprinkles. E and I stayed with my sister for a weekRead More →

It’s the last day of the year and with about 2 hours left before the new year I feel like I should write a 2011 wrap-up post. The wordle for 2011 based on this year’s posts. This year has been an interesting one for all of us. It was a rough year for many countries too with political uprisings in the middle east and natural disasters everywhere ranging from earthquakes, floods, tornadoes and incredible heat and snow. There were royal weddings, the biggest and most watched one being the British royal wedding (though the Bhutan royal wedding was just as impressive in my opinion). ThereRead More →

I suppose Black Friday has come and gone along with another year of Thanksgiving. I hope that those of you who went out to join in on the discounted shopping got the things you had your eyes on. For the rest of us who either shopped online for deals and discounts or those of us who decided to forgo the whole event, I hope you had good rest after your Thanksgiving meals. For me, I did a little online shopping but not too much. All the Black Friday hoopla with people camping out in front of stores in the wee hours before stores opened onRead More →

Today marks the 10th year since 9/11 occurred. I still remember what I was doing on that day when this tragedy struck the United States. I was asleep. Yes, I was asleep for most of that day because I had just moved into a new apartment and the school year had not started yet. I was in my last year of college at that time so I was somewhat poor and had no furniture other than my computer, a mattress and a tv. My roommates had not returned for school yet so I had nothing else to do but to waste my day away byRead More →

When I went home in August to clean out my room, I found quite a bit of things from my childhood that brought back so many memories. It also reminded me of how strange a child I must have been for my parents. One of the many interesting things I discovered during cleaning was this: My journals. It seems that my habit of writing down and recording the silly, mundane moments in my life started when I was rather young. And just like how I am now, I had a very bad habit of not writing on a consistent basis, sometimes leaving a whole 3Read More →

I’m not sure what I want to write about today.  Well, technically, I have ideas in my head but all I can think about right now is the scary tv program we were watching right before we put E to bed. Yes, we were watching a Japanese show about “true” ghost stories (all re-enactments of course) right before E’s bedtime.  Not exactly the brightest decision ever made but not much else was on that looked interesting.   Of course, the acting was also really bad and the stories were silly and quite unreal but its still messing with my mind. I just hope it didn’t scareRead More →

I love public transportation in Tokyo. There’s plenty of them and you have so many different options to choose from. I just love public transportation! Of course, one downside to all this public transportation is that everyone else uses it too. When that happens, the trains get incredibly crowded and quite uncomfortable especially if it’s a highly used line during rush hour. In fact, some of you might know or have seen this image that someone took to describe how crowded trains can get. Crazy, right? To be honest, I’ve only encountered really crowded trains a handful of times in the four years we’ve livedRead More →

….a handmade Lego cake topper was carefully placed amongst a bunch of daisies that were on top of a 3-tiered, blue colored cake…. ….and a fire alarm accidentally went off at the Universal City Hilton while marriage papers were being signed…. What can I say, we’re just that hot of a couple 🙂 Happy 4th Annivesary, my love 🙂 Here’s to many more anniversaries!Read More →
