My dad is an interesting person. Growing up, I always found my dad to be a fountain of all sorts of information.  I think it’s because he reads a lot about anything and everything.  The fact that he’s a rocket scientist doesn’t hurt either.  (ok, well he works with outer space stuff as an engineer…but that’s close enough) Since I rarely write about my dad, I felt compelled to do this weeks writing workshop prompt: 3.) What does that tell you about your father?  List five products your father used (or uses).  Write a longer piece about, at least, one of them. These are theRead More →

Recently, I read this incredible list that was put together by Jen over at Buried with Children. The original source of the list idea was from another blog, Life with Triplets. Anyway, Jen’s list pretty much hit everything on the dot but with a very humorous side to it. It also got me thinking about the 10 things that I’ve learned over this past year about motherhood that I never knew or had imagined before. So here is my list of 10 things I never knew until I became a mom (it’s a pretty lengthy read): 1) Cleaning dirty diapers isn’t as bad as IRead More →

I know I don’t have many people read my blog other than my family (hi, mom, dad, meems, Nicole and auntie Mary) and a few friends (hi Jen and Angel!) but I figure there’s no harm in sharing this with you. Growing up, my dad has always taught us to be generous and to help those less fortunate than us.  It’s one of those lessons that’s stuck with me all my life and probably why I have no problem with donating to charity even when I’m tight on cash myself. No, I’m not going to talk about helping Haiti by donating to all the reliefRead More →

2010… Another decade has passed us by once more.  So far, January has been quite busy for all of us. Jason’s working on middle shift which means he sleeps in an hour or two and gets to come home for dinner and quality time with me and E. With E being so mobile these days, it’s more fun for Jason to interact with her. Ellie’s been quite active this month.  She’s heading towards toddler-hood and at quite a fast pace too.  Over the holiday season, she went from a baby that did a slow, jerky crawling movement to one that constantly needs to be chased. Read More →

This year, I “got” Jason the special lightning edition of the PS3 slim as well as Final Fantasy 13.  We actually had to preorder the PS3 because it’s a limited edition.  Both items were officially released today and so we went to pick it up after Jason got off work. We did the preorder at Sakuraya in Shinjuku.  Let’s just say that they must’ve invested a lot in advertisement for this much anticipated game. Ads with Lightning from FF13 posted on every column in front of the subway exit. This is what the storefront looked outside… These tv screens were playing the pv of theRead More →

Guess who’s 9 months today? No, not me….though there are times I wish I was. Ellie’s 9 months today!  Hooray!  That means that in 3 more months, she will be hitting a big milestone by turning 1! So at 9 months, what kind of madness is she up to these days?  Well…. – She can definitely crawl and quite fast especially when she realizes that I will be walking to a different part of the room.  She can sure chase you down! – She’s got her 2 bottom teeth!  You can see it in the picture above.  I think the top ones are coming soon. Read More →

My parents visited us last week and they stayed at a nice hotel in downtown Tokyo.  Why did they choose to stay at a fancy hotel?  So we can take E on her first dip in the pool! Actually, in Tokyo, most of the public pools require that the baby be potty trained first before they can use the pool.  I guess they don’t like having diapers in the pool for sanitary reasons?  Anyway, my parents hotel didn’t seem to mind so on Saturday, we took E to the pool. I was hesitant at first about taking her into the pool.  She’s never been inRead More →
