Pepsi Japan has done it again! They put out another interesting flavored Pepsi for the holiday season! I’ve written about a few flavors in the past before. There was the Carribean Gold: White Sapote Flavor from earlier this year. Then there was Pepsi Baobab last year. There was also a Pepsi Shiso and Pepsi Azuki Bean in 2009. There are actually a lot more flavors that have been out but I don’t always buy them out of fear of what it’ll taste like. This time they made everything pink. They even called it “Pink” just in case it’s not obvious to you what color it’s supposeRead More →

Do you see this little guy here? Because of him I ended up being jumpy and paranoid at work today. You might be wonder what’s the big deal, right? I mean it’s a tiny spider. It’s not going to eat me or anything. Just leave it alone and it will leave you alone, right? It would be that simple if I wasn’t scared of spiders, especially ones that suddenly fall onto my desk from who knows how high of a place…and while I’m working too. To make matters worse, he wasn’t the only one running around our small office. He had a sibling running aroundRead More →

Time for the start of another round of Alphabe-Thursday! I was quite inspired by what H (from Little Sealed Packages) did with this meme in the last round. She explored and photographed places within the county of Derbyshire where she resides and shared it with us. Unfortunately, Tokyo doesn’t have all the lush, green landscapes like those of the English countryside of Derbyshire so we’re going to have to settle with the urban jungle that I live in. Tokyo is quite big and there are just too many places to choose from so the places I’ll be writing about are a few places I wantedRead More →

This year we got lucky with the weather and actually went out to do some Halloweening 🙂 Here’s a quick recap of our Halloween weekend! We headed out to Roppongi Hills to attend their annual Halloween parade. It’s our first year attending this event so we didn’t know what the turnout was like. Let’s just say that there were a lot of people there that day. Here’s E in her costume. I decided to forgo the yellow pants since E is really picky about what she wears. She was the one who decided on her dark blue tights and those flowery boots. E was aRead More →

*Have you checked out my birthday giveaway yet?  No?  Then get to it!  Click here! It ends this Friday!* —————————- I’m still recovering from the whole 3-day weekend/birthday celebration thing and have fallen behind with everything related to the internet (again). It’s amazing how so many things happen when you don’t read Facebook/blogs/etc for just a few days! Anyway, I had a great birthday weekend. It was a very low-key affair. No parties or gatherings or big fancy presents. Just a bit of family time with E and Jason which is totally fine with me. So here’s a quick-ish rundown of my weekend… Salvation Army BazaarRead More →

This year has been quite the year for natural disasters in Japan. Well, for everyone, really…but since I’m in Japan, it just feels like every week there is something happening. First, we had a long and extremely cold winter with the unusually large amount of snowfall. The cold weather threw off the arrival of spring and caused confusion to the cherry blossom trees. Of course, we also had that horribly destructive earthquake at the same time and with all the chaos that it caused, spring went by without much notice. Then, when things were beginning to settle down, summer approached, leaving us with a veryRead More →

It’s been quite a week last week and even though I haven’t exactly been posting much recently (with the exception to Week in the Life project), I feel the need to write something.  So here are a few thoughts… On blogging and blog reading I had originally planned on writing a post-“Week in the Life”-project thoughts but after spending the entire last week of July blogging and reading blogs every night, I was feeling a bit tired from doing either.  Not that I didn’t enjoy doing both things because I did.  I was just tired because it’s been a long while since I’ve devoted soRead More →

Quick tell me what color light is this. Green light, you say? Why, yes, it is indeed a green light….if you live outside of Japan. In Japanese, the word for green is “midori” and the word for blue is “ao.”  In Japan, they call green lights “ao-shingo“, or blue light.  You will never find a Japanese person referring to this light as a “midori-shingo” despite it’s obviously green color. Strange, isn’t it? I was pretty confused about this the first time I heard about it so I did a little googling. It seems that the word for “green” did not exist in the past andRead More →
