Yesterday’s outing with E really was a treasure trove of wonderful moments. I was going through some of the photos I took yesterday when I saw this photo and remembered the story behind it. This was taken in the walkway area that lead to the subway station. Rather than leaving the walls blank and boring, the people at Tokyo Dome City painted these murals that made it look like it went somewhere. It was a nice touch to an area that people used to go from one place to another. When E saw this one particular mural, she stopped in front of it with aRead More →

Today, Jason had to go into work for a few hours so I decided to take E out to Tokyo Dome City. The place was packed unlike the weekday when I went. The area I wanted to take E to was too crowded so we went to the amusement park in the same complex instead. After going on two kiddie rides together, I bought some kuma castella, these bite-sized sponge cake in the shape of a bear, from a little snack stall. Then E and I sat down on a nearby bench to eat them. When there were only two left in the bag, sheRead More →

Do you see this little guy here? Because of him I ended up being jumpy and paranoid at work today. You might be wonder what’s the big deal, right? I mean it’s a tiny spider. It’s not going to eat me or anything. Just leave it alone and it will leave you alone, right? It would be that simple if I wasn’t scared of spiders, especially ones that suddenly fall onto my desk from who knows how high of a place…and while I’m working too. To make matters worse, he wasn’t the only one running around our small office. He had a sibling running aroundRead More →

I come across a lot of random things when I’m out and about in Tokyo. It’s one of the advantages of having to walk to a lot of places since you tend to notice more things around you. This was one such encounter. It’s the broken heel of a shoe. I saw this in the middle of the sidewalk on the way to the train station yesterday. Almost everyone who walked by it probably didn’t even notice it was there or didn’t even care much for it. I know Jason didn’t see it but then again he was trying to keep E from getting intoRead More →

I’ve been debating on what to write for today. I wanted to write something lighthearted and happy since its the weekend but there is something that’s been bothering me in the back of my mind for some time now that I just need to get it out. Someone I know from high school was recently given the death penalty for the murder of her husband and two sons 4 years ago. Usually, when you hear stories of murdered spouses and kids, it’s always someone you don’t know. A complete strange whose life you learn about through media coverage. So when it’s someone you know whoRead More →

I have such big, happy news to share with all of you! Our bloggy friend, P got married to B on October 14th! Since this is not my happy news, I’m keeping their identity a secret, so if you know who I am talking about send them a congratulations via email! I was going to wait to see if she will announce it herself but she hasn’t blogged in ages and I just couldn’t hold all the giggles and happy smiles to myself 🙂 I just found out about it on Facebook from the photos posted so I am just as surprised as everyone! SinceRead More →

I’m taking a few days off from blogging this week. My brain feels a little fried from all the poetry I have to write and think about for my class (yes, I am taking poetry writing…). It’s making me have writer’s block when I’m in front of my computer even though I’ve got stories to share. I’ll be back next week with stories about a circus, field trips and something else that I cannot for the life of me remember what it was that I wanted to write about….but it’s suppose to be good, I think. Have a good week and I’ll see you guysRead More →

*Have you checked out my birthday giveaway yet?  No?  Then get to it!  Click here! It ends this Friday!* —————————- I’m still recovering from the whole 3-day weekend/birthday celebration thing and have fallen behind with everything related to the internet (again). It’s amazing how so many things happen when you don’t read Facebook/blogs/etc for just a few days! Anyway, I had a great birthday weekend. It was a very low-key affair. No parties or gatherings or big fancy presents. Just a bit of family time with E and Jason which is totally fine with me. So here’s a quick-ish rundown of my weekend… Salvation Army BazaarRead More →
