Still here! Just wanted to drop a quick note in case anyone was wondering how things are.  Currently in California but I’ll be leaving for Tokyo tomorrow.  It’s been quite an interesting week seeing my family, cleaning out my childhood room and missing Jason and E since they didn’t come with me.  So many discoveries made and so many stories shared with my sister but it’s time to head back to Tokyo now. I’ve got my 2 favorite people waiting for me at home.  More stories later…Read More →

Mommy, why is the sky blue? Why do I have to eat vegetables? Why do I have to go to school? Why? Why? Why? Ah, questions. Not just any question but the inevitable “why?” question. I imagine that many of us have been on the receiving end of those why’s, right?  I know that when I was growing up, I use to ask my parents why all the time.  Sometimes it was just to annoy them.  Other times it was a trick for me to try to get out of whatever they are trying to make me do.  But then there were also times whenRead More →

It’s been quite a week last week and even though I haven’t exactly been posting much recently (with the exception to Week in the Life project), I feel the need to write something.  So here are a few thoughts… On blogging and blog reading I had originally planned on writing a post-“Week in the Life”-project thoughts but after spending the entire last week of July blogging and reading blogs every night, I was feeling a bit tired from doing either.  Not that I didn’t enjoy doing both things because I did.  I was just tired because it’s been a long while since I’ve devoted soRead More →

Pretty, pretty please. If you ever, ever feel Like you’re nothing You are perfect to me. – from “Perfect (clean version)” by Pink I sometimes think like a perfectionist but I’m very flawed. I am very OCD about being punctual and get irritated when others are late even when I tell them it’s okay. I have panic attacks when I’m late. I have a certain way of doing things and get annoyed when other people don’t do it the same way. I am very stubborn. I like to clean but complain about having to do it when no one notices the difference. I complain aboutRead More →

The Story of Sunday Sundays tend to be slow days for us. Sundays are normally spent being lazy around the apartment. Details of Today A little Van Houten chocolate milk mixed with regular milk. E hasn’t worn a pair of matching socks in a long time. She likes the mismatched look. Happy Meal toys. Morning E The Story of Today The daycare we send E to had a summer festival this morning. E was really excited as we got closer to her daycare but became a bit confused and shy when she saw how many other kids with their parents were also there. The festival setup was similar to last year. They set up small playing booths for the kids to go to. This year was nice because Jason didn’t have to work like he did last year and got to enjoy the kiddie games with E. Morning E Someone was being a bit lazy. Details from Today It was raining this morning. While waiting to cross the street, I saw a little old lady with a colorful umbrella.
