Poor Ellie…. She caught her first cold last weekend.  At first we thought it was teething because she was coughing a little bit.  We had read that sometimes teething has cold-like symptoms and since she was extra cranky that weekend, we had assumed it was because of a tooth.  I even took her to the doctor (not her usual pediatrician but a GP) who couldn’t find anything wrong with her. Then on Thursday morning, she slept in really late and was still coughing except this time with the sound of phlegm.  This is what I ended up waking up to and spending the day with.Read More →

Ellie HAS to be teething. It’s the only reason we can think of as to why she is drooling sooooo much. Just look at all the dribbling she is doing! And just because she can, she will blow bubbles at you.Read More →

I don’t recall if I ever wrote about tanabata (七夕) when we first moved to Japan. Since I’m practically seeing a lot of things in Japan with new eyes these days, I guess we should revisit old holidays and celebration! Ellie’s first tanabata festival! It’s really amazing how time flies by these days… E is now 4 months!  Now that Jason is back on day shift, we have started putting her in her crib for bedtime around the same time everyday and pretty much always after a bath.  We have to mix it up a little sometimes though.  She caught on the routine pretty quickly and knew what the bath meant so we’re trying to mix it up a little. It’s still a battle everyday getting her to take the nap that I know she really wants but refuses to take.  She cries and she fusses but eventually sheRead More →

I feel like I have been absent from the internet world in a while even though I’ve been at my computer for a few hours everyday.  Strange…. Still, I feel like there’s much to catch up on.  I haven’t gone through and read new posts on Google Reader yet.  I clicked on it the earlier today and noticed I had 1000+ new posts to read…..I guess much has happened during the week I wasn’t doing my usual readings. I also picked up two design projects to work on….gotta work on those… So what have I been doing all this time then?  I’ve rediscovered my loveRead More →
