“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015.” It was interesting watching these two work together to get a bottle of lotion off our dresser. Oh the trouble they will get themselves into when they are older… This week E will be going back to school and I am putting K into daycare so that I can get some cleaning and organizing done. I am really tempted to just take a week off and do absolutely nothing though. It has been a very tiring trip back to California and the kids have been a handful since we came back to Tokyo…Read More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2015.”   Here we go again. I hope this year I’ll have better luck with the blog and posting more often. We’re currently still in LA at my in-laws home where the kids are enjoying all the toys they received from their grandparents. We leave in 2 days and it’s starting to feel a bit sad that we are leaving family behind once again. I guess all good things must come to an end eventually…Read More →

This year has been quite the roller coaster year. I definitely didn’t see the year coming to an end on the down side though. Here’s a quick recap of how our year went… January started off with a lot of festivities with friends from E’s school. We enjoyed a Japanese New Years dinner followed by a Epiphany celebration a few days later. Then we had snow. Lots and lots of it. Oh, and K starts walking! In February, we celebrated Chinese New Years with friends. We also celebrated K’s 1st birthday and squeezed in a trip to Tokyo Disney before E turned 5 in earlyRead More →

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. December isn’t exactly shaping up to be the festive month that we had planned. Between the death of my grandmother, our early return to California, funeral arrangements, and many various family activities, I’m just trying to keep it all together enough to make it through the holidays. For now, I wish all our friends and families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope many of you have a safe holiday season with those you love.Read More →

It’s been several years since Jason and I really celebrated Thanksgiving, even longer since the last time we celebrated with more than just 4 people. It always felt a little sad celebrating it in Tokyo without our entire family since I’ve always celebrated Thanksgiving with a big and loud family get-together and more food than we could eat. This year, since we’ve moved to a bigger place where we can actually invite guests over, we decided to host a Thanksgiving dinner party at our home and invite a few of the families we’ve come to know really well from E’s school. And I have toRead More →

She’s not doing well at all. eating lots of leftover from our 2 Thanksgiving dinners. wearing lots of layers. It’s getting chilly. collecting kit kats. working on making it through thisRead More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” E: Mommy, look! I can teach baby how to read words with my princess book!  Moments like these makes me glad we decided to have 2 kids, even if they do drive us crazy all the time.Read More →

“A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014.” K loves imitating E a lot these days. When she saw E put on a princess dress, she ran over to Anna’s dress and asked me to put it on her.  My girls love being girly every now and then. Even though I don’t fully understand this whole princess thing, I let them geek out on the princess thing and am even an enabler when I make or buy more dresses for them.Read More →
