Yay! I made it to Alphabe-Thursday! Now that I have Internet access again and things have somewhat settled since our arrival, I can begin catching up with things though it will be a long while before I can get back to normal since I’m working solely off my iPad. For this round of Alphabe-Thursday, I’ll be exploring various places in this urban jungle I call home (aka. Tokyo) This week we are going to visit electric town Akihabara. I’m mostly doing pictures this week since I have E climbing all over me right now. Akihabara is located on the east side of Tokyo, 2 stationsRead More →

For this round of Alphabe-Thursday, I’ll be exploring various places in this urban jungle I call home (aka. Tokyo) This week, we’re taking a little day trip out to Daiba (also called Odaiba), a man-made island located inside Tokyo Bay. It’s going to be a longer trip than usual since I had a lot of places to cover, especially since I’ll be following the monorail stops. Oh, Daiba, you weird little island… This is Odaiba. The main access to this area is through the monorail which was built just to connect this place to the main land. You can also travel by bus, car orRead More →

For this round of Alphabe-Thursday, I’ll be exploring various places in this urban jungle I call home (aka. Tokyo) This week, we’re going to visit Icho Namiki Dori and check out the colors of autumn. Unfortunately, instead of this beautiful autumn colored street you see below Photo taken by Shibuya246 This is what I ended up seeing There is absolutely nothing wrong with all this greenery especially when you live in a city like Tokyo. In fact, all I saw on my walk from the station to this area were office buildings and various stores. Nestled in the middle of all these commercial buildings isRead More →

For this round of Alphabe-Thursday, I’ll be exploring various places in this urban jungle I call home (aka. Tokyo) This week, we’re going to visit Tokyo Dome City, this large entertainment complex located near Suidobashi station, which is in the north eastern parts of Tokyo. A large part of this complex is the Tokyo Dome Baseball Stadium. Amazingly enough, it’s the first time I’ve been here despite all the concerts, events and baseball games that are held here. Baseball is probably considered the most popular western sport in Japan. People here really love baseball. In fact, many young boys start playing baseball early with theRead More →

Time for the start of another round of Alphabe-Thursday! I was quite inspired by what H (from Little Sealed Packages) did with this meme in the last round. She explored and photographed places within the county of Derbyshire where she resides and shared it with us. Unfortunately, Tokyo doesn’t have all the lush, green landscapes like those of the English countryside of Derbyshire so we’re going to have to settle with the urban jungle that I live in. Tokyo is quite big and there are just too many places to choose from so the places I’ll be writing about are a few places I wantedRead More →

A few weeks ago, we took E to the zoo for the first time. She had a lot of fun especially because she knew the names of most of the animals and seeing them in person was much more exciting than seeing pictures in a book. We saw elephants, and monkeys, and hippos (including a newborn hippo!). Oh, can’t forget about the Jackass Penguins (though the Japanese name translate to “Cape Penguins”. Not sure where the “Jackass” comes from) And then we finally arrived at E’s favorite animal, the giraffe She was so excited to see the giraffe 🙂 Though to be honest, the giraffeRead More →

I’m turning 31 this coming Saturday. I’m totally psyched about it 🙂 Not because I’m going to have a big fancy party or that I’m getting a nice, fancy gift….just because I’m going to be 1 year older and I think it’s enough of a reason to celebrate. I celebrate life regardless of how old I will be. Of course, thinking about it now, I feel as if I should feel old even though 31 isn’t really considered old. Just that I spend a lot of my days in the company of 18-22 year olds who talk about feeling old but at the same timeRead More →

I was debating if I should participate this in this week’s Alphabe-Thursday especially since I’m behind in reading everyone else’s posts. Besides, X is a pretty hard letter to find a subject to write about. Plus, this fever of mine just won’t break for the life of me and I’m just hanging in this miserable place of being sick and not being able to get out of it. But my desire to blog trumps personal health (probably because I’m delirious at this moment) and so I present you my ‘X’ letter post! I had a tough time thinking of words that started with ‘X’ soRead More →
